Nestor Portocarrero was born in Managua, Nicaragua, in 1971. He received his MFA in Photography from Yale University in 1999.

​Nestor Portocarrero is interested in looking at manmade attempts to replace the natural, in a time when artifice is seemingly transposable with organic. His work has been exhibited, and is included in public and private collections.

Nestor currently lives in Connecticut.
